2022 Champions - Nasrids

The Nasrids beat the Mughals 20-9 enroute to their first BSL title.  The game started with the Nasrids jumping out to a quick 10-0 lead thanks to two HRs by Jibran Waqar and one by Nabeel Jabbar. The Mughals fought back to get the game to 10-9 with the tying run on 2nd in the 5th inning but that is as close as they would come. A big 7 run inning in the bottom of the 5th inning sparked by Ismail and Ahmed helped the Nasrids pull away. The Nasrids played lock down D the rest of the game to close out their first title. Congrats to the Mughals and the rest of the teams on an impressive season. The 2022 playoffs were probably one of the best in history.    

The title was the third for Baseer Yasseen (2016, 2021); the second for Saqib Khokhar (2021), Faisal Khan (2018), Jibran Waqar (2016); Jav Ahmed (2019) and the first for Osman Buttar, Nirvaan Latif, Raza Zahur, Zeshan Alam, Ismail Mohamed, Ahmed Jowhar, and Nabeel Jabbar. Congratulations!

Welcome to the 2022 BSL Season. As the weather improves, we all start getting the itch to get back on the diamond. We have begun planning for the 2022 season but we need your feedback.  We will be launching our Ramadan campaign in early April, stay tuned for more details. 

2022 updates: 
1. We received your feedback through the survey, half the players want a bye week and majority prefer a custom designed jersey.   

2. The last couple years BSL subsidized league fees and kept our costs down for players. This year as we return to a normal season, our costs will return to normal with better jerseys and additional features. The cost for 2022 will be $195 per player for minimum 18 games plus playoffs. 

3. Registration will open Sunday for Returning players.  After that registration will open to former and new players. 

4. We have additional weeks to play this season with Ramadan ending earlier but we will be trying to provide bye weeks for players to plan their family time. 

Here is the tenative schedule for the 2022 season:

2021 Champions - Seljuqs

The Seljuqs beat the Sultans in the 2021 BSL Final en route to the franchise's first title.  The game started slow with the Seljuqs jumping out to a 3-2 lead heading into the 6th inning when Zain Khilji hit a grand slam followed by a Riz Merchant solo HR to give the Seljuqs a 9-2 lead. The Sultans would chip away and found themselves down by 5 runs with only 4 outs left to play with. Atif Khan drew a walk, followed by an Ahmad Ammad single when Jibran Waqar stepped up to a hit monster HR to give the Sultans hope. The Sultans would bring home 2 more runs on a Hamid Malik double to tie the game going into the 9th. With the top of their order up, Sameer Rafique hit a double and Captain Umair Jabbar hit a 2 run dinger to give his squad the lead again. Up 3, the Seljuqs held the Sultans in the bottom half to clinch the title.  

The title was the third for Khizer Channa (2017, 2018); the second for Baseer Yassen (2016), Rizvan Merchant (2016), and Sameer Rafique (2019); and the first for Umair Jabbar, Omer Dhaduk, Saoud Ramjaun, Zain Khilji, Saqib Khokhar, Shoaib Gaya, Tausif Hussain and Zaid Ghansar. Congratulations!
